Romantic Breakup vs Friendship Breakup? Which Is Harder?
I thought it was friendship…..
I recently went through a friendship breakup, and yes, it hurt. It hurt because she was someone, I had seen in my life for more than just a season. But when she told me she needed space from the friendship, I knew it was the end. I grieved the friendship and moved on. But then I got to thinking, is a friendship breakup harder than a romantic breakup?
As always, I wanted to get other people’s insights and thoughts, so I asked my followers on Instagram and got some interesting responses that actually helped me change my view a little.
Out of the 43 people that responded to my question, 34 said that a friendship breakup is harder than a romantic breakup. That was my initial thought, too, and it could be because I had recently gone through a friendship breakup and have been married for almost three years, so the friendship breakup is more recent.
One follower told me she values friendships so much, and you would never catch her crying over a man. LOL, but I agree; I value the friendships in my life so much that it genuinely hurts me if and when they end.
